Maximum number of participants for this walk is 4, as there are only 5 horses in Svalbard. The guide will pick you up at the hotel and bring you to Stallen at Hotellnesset, where we will bring the horses into their stables for saddling. Help and guidance will be provided for inexperienced riders. This initial contact between horse and rider will be helpful as the trip begins. We will ride along the beach out to Vestpynten, amongst hardy flowers and rich birdlife, with great views towards the peaks and glaciers on the other side of Isfjorden. The Icelandic horse is well built for walks in rough terrain and has a gentle way of walking. There will not be a lot of galloping, as the main purpose of the trip is to experience a beautiful part of Svalbard from the horseback. The trip is well suited for beginners.

Duration is about 3 hours from pick-up and return to the hotel.

Families with children can have tailormade trips where the guide will walk and lead the first horse for extra safety. Riding helmets and necessary instructions are provided. Bring warm clothes and warm shoes.
